Exposure to noise in excess of the limits can lead to hearing loss. Regular audiometeric examinations allows the hearing of workers who exposed to noise to be monitored.

Audiometry is carried out to establish hearing status of a worker in determining his/her fitness to work. It is also to monitor hearing loss during employment, to identify individuals who are susceptible to noise, as well as to regulate hearing conservation program.
